Fewer Ads Clicked/Watched Means Less Revenue
TubeMogul.com recently reported that four out of five online video watchers walk away when they encounter the first re-buffer. The sensible therefore? Far fewer ads are getting clicked (or watched) than a publisher would hope for.We all know that re-buffering is caused by network packet loss so let’s cut right to the if list:
- If you are an advertiser, you should insist that your publishers are protected against rebuffering.
- If you are a publisher, you should insist that your CDNs have protection against packet loss and rebuffering
- If you operate a CDN, you must protect your business against packet loss.
